Mary Kay Noren, MSW,
LCSW-C
I
am a Licensed Certified Social Worker with over 20 years of clinical
experience. My graduate studies include a Masters Degree in Philosophy from Yale
University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland.
I have worked in Social Services and in the state hospital with psychiatric
patients. I have also worked in a local mental health clinic where I have seen a
wide range of individuals, couples and families, who are struggling with
problems in everyday living.
In counseling I use a structural family systems approach, but also draw from
cognitive theory. I tend to do short-term, problem-oriented therapy, focusing on
the here and now.
I am committed to helping people find solutions to their problems, giving them
the skills and self-confidence to solve their own problems in the future. This
is done in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.
