Marcia Brown, MSW, LCSW-C
I
am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience in a
variety of treatment settings. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work
from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
I have previously worked in school,
residential treatment, inpatient and outpatient mental health settings. I have
consulted for hospice, Refugee Resettlement, Social
Services, and FEMA. Working with people in a wide
array of situations has helped me to understand the importance of dealing with
the whole person-mind, body, and spirit. It has also given me the opportunity
to see how people can grow in their outlook on life, and in their interactions
with others.
My preference in therapy is to have a collaborative relationship, utilizing
solution-focused methods. I believe in working out a plan of action that
incorporates the needs of the whole person, and that gives new coping skills to
improve the quality of that person’s life.
