Joan Guzzi, MS, LCPC
With over ten years of experience in various settings, I am a Licensed Clinical Counselor who enjoys working with women and men who have experienced trauma in their lives. I believe that counseling is an alliance between the client and the therapist, both work to find resolution to the problems that caused that client to seek out professional help.
My interests include depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, and phase of life stressors, whether they are education, marriage and family, or career issues. I have worked in an Employee Assistance Program, a domestic violence shelter, rape crisis agency, community mental health agency, and now in private practice. I have worked with clients aged three to eighty three; at this time my clients ages are eighteen to eighty.
A mid-life career changer, my masters degree in counseling is from The University of Rochester, and additional studies for licensure were completed at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore; I am board certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors.
