Everybody Needs Help
  • Everybody needs a little help now and then to get through life.
  • All of counseling is confidential to the full extent of the law.
  • We treat each person individually helping them to find the solutions.
  • Counseling Associates is here to help!
  • Counseling Associates provides three basic types of services.

1.  Referral Service
  • The therapist must first understand the problem that the person is having.
    • Each client is treated individually.
  • We will give the client as much information on his/her treatment options, so the client can make an informed decision on his/her treatment path and the costs involved.
  • If CA believes there are the better providers of the best and most appropriate care for the situation, CA will offer referrals.

2. Psychotherapy
  • Psychotherapy is a fancy word for counseling.
  • All sessions are fully confidential to the full extent of the law.
  • CA is available 24/7 for emergency assistance.
    • Even if you are out of the area you can call us toll free in an emergency!

3.  Addictions Treatment
  • Counseling Associates provides substance abuse therapy through its Gateway Behavioral Health Division.  Included with EAPs are:
    • Intensive Outpatient Group
    • Traditional Outpatient Group
    • Individual Counseling
    • Interventions

What is an EAP Plan?
  • EAP stands for Employee Assistance Program.
  • This is a program, paid for by the company, that proactively provides their employees’ families assistance to live a better quality of life.
    • The program includes both free psychotherapy sessions and the addictions treatment.

Access to EAP
  • The sessions provided for in the EAP is not only for each employee, but the total number of sessions may also be used by immediate employee family members.
    • Example:  Joe Smith (Employee) During 1 year
      • Joe has 2 sessions
      • Joe’s wife and son have 4 joint sessions.
      • Total of 6 sessions = Free for family (Depending on EAP plan chosen)

Insurance Cost is Lowered
  • Reduced cost for mental health portion of insurance plan.

  • By having the EAP the employee uses it first.
  • The employee would have already had 6 sessions by the time that insurance kicked in.
  • That is a savings to the employee of $126.81!
  • The insurance company is never billed for the first six sessions causing the cost of insurance to go down.

How Do I Get Services?
  • Call 410.546.1692 to set up an appointment.
  • Tell them you have an EAP and the name of your company.
  • Show up for the appointment.
    • It is that simple!

Confidentially
  • Counselors are bound by law to keep all information confidential.
    • Normally if your employer called to ask if you were receiving counseling we would not even tell them if you were a patient or not!
    • The only time we would even acknowledge to your employer would be if they mandated that you attended counseling,
      • Then we would simply let them know you were receiving treatment.
      • No other information would be given unless you signed a release form.
